Andrew James Clutterbuck, better known by his stage name Andrew Lincoln (born 14 September 1973), is an English actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Rick Grimes in the AMC post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead (2010–2018), for which he received the Saturn Award for Best Actor on Television in 2010 and 2013.
Lincoln began his acting career in the mid-1990s, appearing in a number of British television shows, including This Life (1996–1997), Teachers (2001–2002), and Afterlife (2005–2006). He also had roles in several films, such as Human Traffic (1999), Gangster No. 1 (2000), and Love Actually (2003).
In 2010, Lincoln was cast as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. The show was a critical and commercial success, and Lincoln's performance was widely praised. He became one of the most recognizable actors on television, and his character is considered to be one of the most iconic in television history.
Lincoln left The Walking Dead in 2018, but he has since reprised the role of Rick Grimes in a number of other projects, including the web series The Walking Dead: Red Machete (2020) and the upcoming anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead.
In addition to his work on screen, Lincoln has also performed in a number of stage productions, including Hushabye Mountain (1999), Blue/Orange (2000–2001), and The Late Henry Moss (2006).
Lincoln is a married father of two children. He is a supporter of a number of charities, including UNICEF and the British Red Cross.
