Thomas William Hiddleston (born 9 February 1981) is an English actor and producer. He is best known for his role as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), for which he has won numerous awards, including the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain and the People's Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie Star.
Hiddleston was born in Westminster, London, England. His mother, Diana Patricia Servaes, is a former stage manager, and his father, James Norman Hiddleston, is a physicist and chemical engineer. He has two younger sisters, Sarah and Emma. Hiddleston was educated at Dragon School, Eton College, and the University of Cambridge, where he studied classics.
After graduating from Cambridge, Hiddleston trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He made his professional acting debut in 2001 in a stage production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He went on to appear in a number of other stage productions, including Chekhov's The Seagull (2007), Ibsen's The Lady from the Sea (2008), and Shakespeare's Hamlet (2009).
In 2011, Hiddleston made his breakthrough role as Loki in the Marvel Studios film Thor. He has since reprised the role in Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and the Loki television series (2021–present).
In addition to his work in the MCU, Hiddleston has also starred in a number of other films, including War Horse (2011), The Deep Blue Sea (2011), Crimson Peak (2015), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Only Lovers Left Alive (2013). He has also starred in a number of television shows, including the BBC miniseries The Night Manager (2016), for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film.
Hiddleston is a talented and versatile actor who has starred in a wide range of films and television shows. He is a role model for many young people, and he is an inspiration to millions of people around the world.
